December Happenings

We had such a fun but busy month of December! 'Tis the season I guess. It started out with a wonderful piano recital where Murph showed off her talent; then Ryan's work party where the theme was Mulan Rouge. I even got one dance out of him!! We took the kids to breakfast & to see Santa & his reindeer, & even got a fun hayride out of it. When replying to Santa's "what do you want for Christmas?" they all looked at mom for help! I guess we do the Santa thing simply for the photo op. And maybe for something to do out of the ordinary?
Andrea took the girls to see the Nutcracker but forgot her camera. Great performance, but chilly night. We also saw our little Diva perform in a school Christmas play, which will be posted later. Still trying to figure out the whole download thing!! Until then ...

We took the kids to a place called Toast for breakfast. Who can resist oreo pancakes?
Little Man was in Heaven!

We couldn't believe he ate the whole thing! Well, he had a little help!

Happy Thanksgiving

I have so many things to be thankful for & one of them is good health. I have felt so good lately as I continue to lose weight-yes, even during Thanksgiving!!

My parents & brother, Charlie came over for Thanksgiving & it was a lot of fun. My mom was kind enough to do most of the cooking & cleaning up which I was so grateful for. My mom, Charlie, & I went to the Outlet Mall's "Moonlight Madness" at 10 PM Thanksgiving night. It was crazy & cold, but we had a lot of fun & we were able to get 7 free tickets on the Rio Grande Railroad! We got some great deals, & shopped until 1 AM. Friday morning Ryan went to work while we all went to the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. We love that place, especially the Health Exhibit & spent the entire time there until it was time for my family to leave for the drive home to Utah. I am so thankful they were able to come & VERY thankful for great weather there & back & the whole time they were here!

I am thankful for my dad, esp for the insight he recently gave me on the temple. I admire him for attending once a week & am thankful for his example. I blew my 2-month streak & ironically was not able to make it in November, but realized that I can just keep doing my best!

I am so thankful for my kids. Everything I do is for them, in some form or another. I am grateful for the opportunity to see a cute little Thanksgiving performance where the kids sang 2 or 3 songs when I picked up my son from pre-school.

I'm grateful for Ryan & the wonderful husband & father he is. He's so patient & supportive & helps me to reach my full potential. (Doesn't he look great in the suit I found for him at the midnight sale?)

We had such a relaxing weekend & watched movies, played the Wii & got each of the kids' a haircut. I was so grateful to be able to spend so much time as a family & enjoy the holiday together.

Church Cancelled!

Yep, more snow! They cancelled church Saturday night at 11:15 PM via email in anticipation of 2 snow storms. We got 2 phone calls Sunday morning just to make sure we knew. It's so crazy to cancel church for 16 inches, but true! Gotta love Colorado!
Little Man played in the snow while Ryan shoveled the walks with the neighbors. They both love playing in the snow!
Thanks to my cousin for letting us use this sewing maching. Patti taught me how to use it so that I could finish up a project. Yes, you read that right-I sewed! (No, I don't want a machine for Christmas!!) I think I will stick to buying gifts, instead of making them. This was just a tad more expensive & way too time consuming!

Good thing we had an extra 3 hours today 'cause it took me almost that long!! It was fun for the first 5 minutes. Just look at that concentration!!

After the initial shock, Ryan said, "my domesticated wife!" Don't get any ideas!

Holy Snow!

Wednesday morning we woke up to this!

Thursday morning we woke up to this! 16 inches just on the fence!! Our Tacoma looks like a Tundra & the sign in the front yard is buried.

Crazy storm, but the kids sure enjoyed it!

They also enjoyed having 2 days off of school! It hasn't stopped snowing, so who knows if they will go Friday or not!!

Happy Birthday, Little Man!

4 Years old!
(He wanted an oreo cake so this is what we came up with!)

High School Football Fans

We have only been to 1 or 2 High School Football games since we moved to Colorado. We know a couple of kids on the local high school team this year so we decided to attend one of their away games, 30 minutes away. We made the kids wear jackets, thinking it wouldn't be too cold. It was pretty cold, but the kids were troopers & didn't complain much. A few weekends later, we went to their Homecoming game. We were a little more prepared this time with coats & blankets. It was freezing! It started snowing around halftime & the kids huddled under the blanket while we froze to death watching the rest of the game. We are such die hards! Too bad they lost both games.
