Russia Trip Days 6-8

Day 6 was a day of rest, as it was Sunday.  We attended church, took naps, & played games.  Day 7 was spent at the Kremlin.  There were lots of churches, government buildings, & the armory.  They don't allow pictures in the armory, but it was really neat to see the evolution of armor, weaponry, carriages, dishes, clothing, etc.

  This is a mall across from Red Square, called GUM (goom.)  Real fancy & very expensive!

  Marc took us to a Biological Museum on Day 8.  It was so cool, but could be disturbing to some so beware!  These were all living animals/humans at one time.

  Marc also took us to Christ the Savior Cathedral.

We finished off the day with a beautiful view of the Kremlin & then shared some Russian pastries.  Ryan's nieces even ordered in Russian!

Russia Trip Days 3-5

   The infamous Gorky Park!  Ryan played "Wind of Change" by Scorpions as we walked through the park!  The park was huge & had bikes for rent & pillows to lounge on.  We celebrated the 4th of July by relaxing in the park, renting bikes, & eating ice cream.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Day 4

 

Marc had to work, but Amy took us to the market where we bought an ice cream log & some Russian food.  Very interesting but yummy!

  

This natural spring is considered "holy water" in the forest by their house.

 

There was a 4th of July party at the US Embassy where the kids (see Ryan on the right) raced.  We even got to meet the Ambassador!

 Day 5

We went to the Cosmonaut Museum which is Russia's space museum.  Then we walked to a place called Vendayha which is like a flea market/shopping/museum area where we had Turkish food for lunch.

 

 

 

 

 

Largest water fight, EVER!!

 

 

We then took the metro/subway to the Russian circus!  We grabbed some ice cream while we waited for the doors to open.  We couldn't take pictures inside the arena once it started & we couldn't understand a word, as the circus was entirely in Russian, but it was awesome!
